Imagine believing you know your father’s name and birthplace only to learn he was hiding key biographical information from you, your sibling, and even your mother. That is what happened to Apollo’s Fire founder and artistic director, Jeannette Sorrell, on the eve of her Carnegie Hall debut.
Sorrell will share the story of how a DNA test revealed her father was Jewish and a survivor of the Auschwitz-Birkenau and Buchenwald concentration camps when Kol Israel Foundation (KIF) hosts the GRAMMY®-winning conductor at Secret Survivor: A Daughter’s Discovery of Her Father’s Holocaust Past.
The program is free, but registration is required by emailing the names of everyone in your reservation to info@kifcle.org or visit Kol Israel Foundation – Resilience, Remembrance and Holocaust Education.
